About Us
Ch Bon Marche' Bella Blue of BurmesePleez - Retired Forever cat
and Founded in 2010, we are located on a wooded hillside overlooking Danbury, Connecticut, just over the border from New York State. As a small cattery, we are dedicated to the exclusive, careful breeding of BURMESE cats. Our primary goal is to improve the health and vitality of the burmese breed through thoughtful selection and genetic screening all of our breeding cats, as well as the periodic introduction of CFA sanctioned outcrosses to promote hybrid vigor. We are avid kid and pet lovers and currently share our home with our three of our four children, a rescue dog, and our beloved Burmese. Having been raised in the home of a veterinarian and working in his practice since I was a teen, you could say that loving and caring for animals is "in my blood." All of the cats in our home are our pets and receive the affection, exercise, and freedom necessary to be happy and healthy. They are also dog and kid friendly!
I was first introduced to the Burmese breed when a lovely champagne "stray" kitty was brought into the vet clinic. I was immediately taken by her silky soft fur and her large gold eyes, but was completely won over when she settled herself comfortably on my lap and remained there throughout the lengthy process of locating her owners through microchip. Although I had never bought a breed of cat before, it wasn't long until I knew that I wanted to adopt one of these exceptional kitties myself. From then on we were completely enthralled, and so it began...
I am currently an active member of the CFA Burmese Breed Council, the National Alliance of Burmese Breeders (NABB) and am a member of NEMO Cat Club (since 2013) and SeaCoast Cat Club (2019). I continue to devote myself to learning more about this most wonderful of breeds and contributing to its long-term health and popularity.
